It’s Father’s Day!

Father’s Day is here! Remember what we did for Mother’s Day? How about doing the same for Dad and listing those things you love about him, too?!

Here are a few of mine . . .

  • how he’d take the family on ski trips in Minnesota up north where there was always lots of snow
  • how he’d take us on vacations to fun summer resorts, and since he loved music, he’d always bring the record player, too!
  • hearing him sing in church as he had a great voice, and he’d sing in harmony, too
  • how he’d send me the best cards when I went off to college with scenic photos on the front, and they’d always make my day

So Happy Father’s Day! May you honor your dad in every way. He’s sure to love your list, and how about a huge hug, too, and have a very special day!

Happy Dad’s Day!

Hey, tween girls! It’s Dad’s Day today! . . . that special day to celebrate your dad.

So what’s happening today? A picnic? Playing some golf? A day at the lake?

While you’re celebrating, how about telling him how special he is and all that he does for you. He’ll be sure to love that! And if he’s no longer with you, let sweet memories and your Heavenly Father be a comfort to you.

So Happy Dad’s Day to all of you! And hoping your day’s filled with laughter and fun!

So Father’s Day is here! Another day of celebrating all those dads out there and especially your dad, too! What are your plans? Maybe a bike ride or picnic or off to a fun ballgame? Whatever you’re doing, it’s sure to be great! And how about thinking of all those things you love about him and telling him, too.

May it be a sweet day of loving on him with lots of laughter and fun! And if he’s no longer with you, may you remember those special memories. Happy Father’s Day to all of you!

Hoping your day’s amazingly fun, celebrating all the ways that your dad is special! And if he’s no longer with you, may you treasure sweet memories, remembering that your Heavenly Father is always with you and loves you and always will!

So have a fun, happy day, and let the celebration begin!!!

‘Yay’ for Father’s Day!

So Father’s Day’s coming . . . Yay! A day to celebrate your dad 🙂 So what plans do you have going?

Are you surprising him with a special breakfast or dinner? A picnic in the park or playing a little golf? Whatever you’ve dreamed up, I’m sure he’ll love it. I know you’ll have fun!         

But maybe your dad’s in heaven and no longer with you . . . or maybe you never see him, and things aren’t the best. If so, just think . . . without your earthly father you wouldn’t even be here, so how about just talking to him and working things out . . . I’m sure he’d like that, and God would want that, too. And if you’re a bit hesitant, just listen to God, and He’ll tell you what to do. But also remember, God’s your heavenly father who loves you, and He’s always with you, too 🙂

Exodus 20:12 says, “Honor your father and mother so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” So how about doing just that?! And while you’re at it, how about telling him all that you love about him and giving him a huge hug. And if your dad’s in heaven, let the Lord comfort you as you cherish sweet memories, knowing He’s with you, too.

So have a Happy Father’s Day, and hope your day’s great!

Remember what we did for Mother’s Day? Well, let’s do the same for dads! That is . . . listing all the things you love about him:)

Although my dad is no longer with us I’ll always remember . . .   

  • how he loved doing things with the family . . . playing golf and tennis, skiing, canoeing, fishing, sailing
  • how fun he was to dance with and how he loved music . . . he even had his own dance band!
  • how he’d listen to me play the piano
  • a family vacation when he had all of us singing at the top of our lungs, arriving at midnight at our cousins’ in Ohio . . . This was to wake us up!
  • the letters he’d write when I went off to college
  • his kindness and caring with people
  • him telling me that God’s always with me

Let’s look again at Ephesians 6:2-3. “Honor your father and mother so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” So go make your list and give it to him, and you’re sure to get a huge hug!
