It’s National Go Fishing Day!

Hey, tween girls . . . so who loves to fish? I was never that big on it, but loved eating them, and it was always fun being on the lake. I grew up in Minnesota, and there are a few lakes there . . . about 10,000 of them, that is! My dad loved to fish, and I remember going out on the boat with him, and I must say, it was fun when one tugged on my line. My dad would give pointers on reeling it in, and he’d do the rest. And there was nothing better than fresh fish for dinner, too!

So how about you? Do you love to fish and love eating them, too? If so, I hope you can go fishing today or maybe sometime soon!

Hey, tween girls . . .

It’s National Flip Flop Day!

Flip flops are fun . . . wouldn’t you agree?! They’re so comfy and easy to slip on, and love wearing them anywhere, and a must at the beach!

Now that summer’s here, I love wearing them all the time. How about you?

So have a happy National Flip Flop Day, and I hope you’re especially wearing them today to celebrate this fun day!

It’s Share a Smile Day!

Hey, tween girls . . . Aren’t smiles the best?! Whether giving one or someone smiling at you, it just makes us happy . . . wouldn’t you agree? I think we all look best with a smile on our face, and if you’re having a rough day, it can even lift your mood, too!

So in celebration of Share a Smile Day, how about smiling a bit more today with your family and friends and even strangers walking by. It might just surprise you and even be fun. It’s sure to make your day great and someone else’s day great, too!

It’s National Ballet Day!

Hi, tween girls! Do you like ballet? Are you a ballet dancer, too?

I remember going to ballet class when I was a little girl. I loved wearing pink tights and ballet shoes. It felt so special to me. We’d practice our steps and turns, over and over, and take little jumps across the floor. My ballet teacher was so pretty and kind, too.

I remember our recital, my heart racing, once onstage, the bright lights in my eyes. I loved our fancy costumes. It was fun to perform and a very special night.

So in celebrating National Ballet Day, perhaps there’s a performance you’re going to, or maybe you’re in one and a ballet dancer, too.

If not, may you take a moment to appreciate ballet and the world of dance and all of the young dancers and older ones, too!

It’s National Compliment Day!

Hey, tween girls . . .

It’s nice to be complimented. Wouldn’t you agree?! … when someone tells you you look nice or are a hard worker or have a nice smile. I’m sure you can think of more!

God’s word says in John 15:12 to love one another and in 1st Thessalonians 5:11, to encourage one another and build each other up. And when we do, it’s sure to make someone feel great and even make us feel great, too.

So how about giving a few compliments today . . . to your family and friends and even the clerk at the store! It’s sure to put a smile on their face and make their day. You may even end up getting a huge hug, too, so have a fun, joy-filled day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, tween girls! … a season and day of thanks and turkey with those you love.

How about taking a moment to focus on all that you’re thankful for along with thanking God, too.

Psalm 106:1 says, “Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever.”

May it be a joy-filled, wonderful day!

It’s National Make a Dog’s Day!

Can you imagine this world without dogs? No way! And so cool that God came up with them, being man’s best friend and part of the family, too!

It’s amazing all the breeds… from a St. Bernard to a tiny chihuahua and everything in between with all of their different personalities and traits. And most of us have a favorite, too!

I’ve always loved cockers and had a black one named Ebony. She’d love playing fetch with the tennis ball, nonstop. And whose dog doesn’t?! And I’ll always remember her getting into some chocolate chip cookies, doing the backstroke in the lake, and getting tomato juice baths to get de-skunked. I’m sure you have stories, too.

So what would make your dog’s day? Maybe a day in the park, or a new toy or favorite treat, and extra snuggles, too. Whatever it is, how about doing exactly that!? And if you don’t have one of those fun, furry pups, maybe today’s your day to get one or even a rescue, and that’s sure to make their day, too!

It’s National Dear Diary Day!

So how many of you have a diary or journal and love writing in it? I do, and hope all of you do, too!

I got my first diary when I was around seven. It was dark green and hard covered and had a lock and key. I loved that I could keep things secret, too! It was just so special to me.

I loved writing my thoughts and feelings in it and all that was happening in my life . . . the fun and not-so-fun things, the happy and sad. Sometimes it’s great to just get things out. Wouldn’t you agree?

There’s something about writing that makes things more real and helps you discover yourself and is a great way to talk to God, too!

It’s also fun reading it years later, thinking back on special memories and things I forgot and things that make me laugh now, too!

So happy Dear Diary Day! And if you don’t have one, I hope you soon do and start writing in it soon, too!
