It’s National Fitness Day!

Hey, tween girls! Do you like keeping fit? I hope so, as everything works better when you’re keeping yourself fit… your energy, that glow in your face, the way your clothes fit. And besides, it’s just fun!

So what are your faves? Running, rollerblading, dancing, or cheer, or maybe even some walkovers in the backyard? There are lots of ways to keep fit, for sure!

If it’s not really your thing, it’s just about getting your body moving, that’s all. So just for fun, how about making a list? Maybe riding a bike, or hiking on a fun trail, or walking around a lake. Whatever you come up with, I’m sure you’ll love it once you start up!

And if you’re not where you’d like to be, you could set some small goals. Whether you work out alone or with bunches of friends, you’re sure to have fun!

So Happy National Fitness Day, and remember that everything’s better when you’re feeling more fit!

It’s National Library Day!

What would we do without books??!!

I hope you love them like I do . . . where you can go different places and explore the world, or get involved in a mystery, figuring out the next clue, or go on a fun adventure with someone just like you.

How about going to your library today and picking up a fun book or two or three and escaping for an afternoon, cozying up in your favorite spot?!

I hope you just might do that, and have a happy day!

It’s National Puppy Day!

Truly… is there anything cuter?!

They are just so fun and so funny, too! How they endlessly explore and get into everything and sniff with their wagging tail… how they love playing fetch and look up at you with those sweet, tender eyes.

Makes my heart melt… Yours, too?

In my book, The Heart to Dance, whenever Alexis visits her grandmother, Numsie, in Paris, she can’t wait to see Bijou, Numsie’s bichon frisé. Alexis has adored her since she was a puppy and loves scooping her up and talking to her and snuggling with her, too.

So for those of you who have puppies, how about celebrating with special treats, or extra time at the park, or doing what they love with lots of cuddling, too. Or how about picking up a sweet rescue and making their day!

Happy National Puppy Day to you!

It’s National Hugging Day!

Hey, tween girls!

So who doesn’t love hugs? I’m pretty sure most of us do! Whether it’s your mom, dad, brother, sister, grandparents, friend, dog, or cat, to name just a few . . . hugs are the best!

What a way to show appreciation or love, or showing someone how special they are. It might also just make someone’s day!

So Happy National Hugging Day! And if you haven’t already, how about getting right on it and maybe giving a few extra hugs today, too!

Kindness Matters!

Hey, tween girls! Happy World Kindness Day! What a difference kindness makes, no matter our nationality or color of skin . . . God created us all!

When you’re having a rough day and a friend helps you out or even a stranger, too . . . Kindness matters! Nothing feels better when someone’s there for you, and also when you’re being kind, too. Like welcoming a new family into your neighborhood or the new kid at school, or comforting a friend who’s lost their dog, or when your friend’s looking sad and you find out what’s wrong.

And if someone’s not kind to you, you can still be kind back. That doesn’t mean being a doormat. You can still stand up for yourself, but you don’t need to treat them how they’re treating you.

In my book, The Heart to Dance, Alexis isn’t being treated well by a girl in her dance class, but after talking to God, He tells her to be kind anyway. And when she does that, it changes everything. And that can happen for you, too!

So Happy World Kindness Day! You never know what someone’s going through, so kindness matters and can make someone’s day or even change a life! So how about being extra kind today and also every day after that!

Another Special Day!

Hi, tween girls! Did you know that today’s Plush Animal Lovers Day??? If not, I didn’t either! It’s a day to give extra love and care to your favorite stuffed animal. They sure think of everything, don’t they?!

My fave, growing up, was Bunny, and I slept with her every night. She was soft and cuddly with very long ears and about half the size of me! I loved and treasured her and loved holding her tight. She was such a comfort to me.

I’m sure you have a favorite stuffed animal, too, who does the same for you! Maybe a puppy or teddy bear or bunny like mine . . . I’d love hearing about yours, too:)

Just like our stuffed animals give us sweet comfort, know that God, your Heavenly Father, does the same for us, too. Isaiah 41:10 says God is always with you and to not be afraid. I love that! That He’s always with us, and loves us, and loves to comfort us, too! So if you haven’t already, just invite Him into your heart. It’s that simple! And when you do, just know that He’ll always be with you, and what could be greater than that?!

So on this Plush Animal Lovers Day, how about grabbing your favorite stuffed animal and giving her extra hugs or squeezing her all day? Or maybe taking her out for breakfast, or a day in the park, or reading your favorite book to her.

Whatever you do, have a sweet, fun day, and remember, God’s with you, too!

Happy Grandparents Day!

Hey, tween girls! It’s another special day . . . National Grandparents Day!

Our grandparents are rather important, since without them, we wouldn’t be here! And so fun we have two sets of them, too! Although, some of you may also have step-grandparents, too 🙂

One of my grandmothers went to heaven the week I was born, but I loved hearing stories about her. And I have sweet memories of the others, especially family vacations together and holidays, too.

In my book, The Heart to Dance, Alexis has a close bond with her grandmother, Numsie, since they both love to dance. And since Numsie lives in Paris, the times they connect are special.

I’m hoping you’re close with your grandparents, too, and that you spend time with them today, honoring them, or maybe chatting on FaceTime. And if they’re no longer with you, how about reminiscing special times you had with them with your whole family, too!

Wishing you a Happy Grandparents Day, and have a sweet, fun day!

Happy Dad’s Day!

Hey, tween girls! It’s Dad’s Day today! . . . that special day to celebrate your dad.

So what’s happening today? A picnic? Playing some golf? A day at the lake?

While you’re celebrating, how about telling him how special he is and all that he does for you. He’ll be sure to love that! And if he’s no longer with you, let sweet memories and your Heavenly Father be a comfort to you.

So Happy Dad’s Day to all of you! And hoping your day’s filled with laughter and fun!

It’s Mother’s Day!

Hey, tween girls . . . it’s Mom’s Day today! A day you especially honor her even though I hope you do everyday! What do you have going? A picnic or barbeque or some fun in the sun? Whatever it is, I’m sure it’ll be great!

As you honor her, how about telling her all the things she’s done for you and still does for you, too . . . or sharing a first memory with her, too. One of mine is nestling close to my mom while she talked on the phone, and she’d wrap a lock of my hair around her finger and twirl it. I just loved that and still love that memory, too! How about you?

So Happy Mother’s Day to all of you, and may it be a sweet, special day filled with lots of love and hugs!
